Father’s day celebrations, school visits for the Pre-schoolers, visits from the school teachers, teaching older children how to apply suncream to themselves, learning what ’shade’ is, celebrating the arrival of our Giant African Snails baby eggs and generally having fun in the sun has been on the agenda in June. Last Monday was a challenge in the sunshine but we’re hoping that next week when the sun comes back out, we’ll be a little bit more prepared and won’t need to close. That said we may relocate the children a little to take advantage of our coolers rooms, some of these are at The Ranch, if we move around - I’ll make sure I let you know.
In other news, Ellen has given birth to her baby girl. They are both home and well and Cameron is a very happy big brother.
There a few Bits & Bobs that you might need to know, so please take a read.

Photographer
We had to cancel our Photographer last week due to the nursery being closed however we have rearranged them for this week. The photographers will be here tomorrow and Thursday (1st & 2nd of July) If your children are in nursery on these days, they will have a photograph taken (if they are happy to!) If your little person isn’t at nursery but you would like the photographer to take a picture, please feel free to pop in between 12pm and 1pm - let us know if you are going to do this please.
Sports Day Thursday July 9th - Relocation
Given the return of the super sun next week we have decided to relocate our Sports Day to Badbury Clump where there is plenty of shade and space. We hope to see everyone there to celebrate the end of the Pre-school year, so if you and/or grandparents are coming along to watch, please meet us at Badbury Clump instead. It is a National Trust site so please bring a few pennies for the car parking charge.
Address: B4019, Faringdon SN7 7NL
Pre-school End of Term Trip
We were planning to take the children to White Horse Hill but we’ll keep an eye on the weather and if it looks like it is going to be too hot, I will make another plan:
Great Coxwell Preschool Trip: 15th July 9am - 12pm
Fernham Preschool Trip: 16th July 9am - 12pm
Ranch Registration for Pre-schoolers
If you would like to use our wrap around care or holiday club at The Ranch from September onwards, please complete a Ranch Registration form. We will then take you off of the nursery mailing list and move you to The Ranch mailing list. The way to complete your Ranch bookings is using the good old booking site (hopefully you haven’t forgotten your login) and the booking window is open between the 10th and 20th of the month, as before - I will remind you a bit closer to the time though, don’t worry.
First few days of September
For children who are leaving Pre-school at the end of July/August but need holiday club care for September 1st & 2nd, you will have the ability to make a holiday club booking but your children will be at The Ranch not at nursery. Again, I will explain this in more detail later in the summer
'Unbooking'
I am still getting ‘parent absence requests’ via Pigeonhole for days in August but please remember, you don’t need to do this as unless you have made an August booking (via the link I sent last week) your child won’t be booked in anyway. For families who have not yet made an August booking, if you would like to make one, you are able to use the following link to do so:
From Oxfordshire County Council...
Dear Parents and Carers of Oxfordshire,
We are inviting parents and carers to take part in a short survey about the oral health of children aged 2–4 years in Oxfordshire.
Your feedback will help shape future oral health services and help ensure we continue to provide the best possible support for children and families across Oxfordshire.
As you may know, we work closely with your child’s early years setting to support oral health through staff training, accreditation programmes, resources, and ongoing support.
If you are a parent or carer of a child aged 2–4 years living in Oxfordshire, we would really appreciate you taking approximately 5 minutes to complete this survey.
All responses are anonymous.
The survey will close on 20 July, so please complete it before this date.
